Welcome

Welcome to the web pages of the College of Professional Studies.  Our College consists of four Divisions: Justice Studies, Public Affairs, Resort and Hospitality Management, and Social Work.

The Division of Justice Studies offers undergraduate degrees in criminal justice, legal studies, and criminal forensic studies.  At the graduate level, we have our new MS in Criminal Forensic Studies and in 2007, we will introduce a MS in Criminal Justice.

The Division of Public Affairs offers an undergraduate degree in political science and a Masters in Public Administration.  The MPA program is currently a candidate for accreditation through NASPAA, the national accrediting body for Public Administration programs.

The Resort and Hospitality Management degree prepares students for careers in all aspects of the resort and hospitality industry.  We also offer a Professional Golf Management degree within this Division.  The PGM program is accredited by the PGA.

The Division of Social Work offers both the MSW and BSW degrees.  The MSW program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and the BSW program is currently in candidacy for accreditation.

Many of our courses are offered via the internet, allowing the student the opportunity to complete a significant amount of the degree requirements right from the comfort of his/her own home!

The faculty of the College of Professional Studies are all scholar-practitioners who have real-world experience in their areas of expertise.  Many are nationally known within their field.  If your career interests are leading you towards one of the areas within our College, I am confident you will find no better place to obtain your professional preparation.  Our Division Chairs:  Dr. Tony Barringer in Justice Studies, Dr. Terry Busson in Public Affairs, Dr. Sherie Brezina in Resort and Hospitality Management, and Dr. Sakinah Salahu-Din in Social Work, would be pleased to discuss their programs in detail with you and describe the many exciting professional career opportunities that are available in their respective fields.  Their contact information can be found on the web page for their particular Division.

Once again, welcome.  I hope your search for a degree program that matches your career aspirations is a fruitful one.
