Description

The Bachelor of Science in the Social Work Program is offered through the Division of Social Work and has the principal objective of preparing students for entry-level professional social work practice in a variety of social service agencies.  Guided by professional ethics, students develop the knowledge, skills and values for generalist social work with culturally diverse individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities.  Through classroom instruction and field practicum, students gain knowledge and skills to asses the needs and resources of people and their social environment, link people to needed resources and improve community resources.  BSW graduates provide services to individuals, groups and communities.

Students may, upon graduation, use their bachelor’s level training for bachelor’s level practice or pursue graduate training in social work, counseling, or one of the other helping professions such as psychology or rehabilitation counseling and in a variety of setting
