Welcome to the Division of Social Work!

Thank you for thinking about enrolling in the Social Work Program at Florida Gulf Coast University. The Division of Social Work, College of Professional Studies, offers both the Master of Social Work (MSW), and the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Programs.  The Council on Social Work Education accredited the Master of Social Work Program in February 2004 and granted candidacy status to the BSW Program in October, 2006. The MSW Program prepares graduates for advanced clinical community practice and the BSW Program prepares students for generalist practice.  Master of Social Work students attend classes on campus one day a week and are generally in internships two days a week. Bachelor of Social Work students are on campus two days a week and at internships two days a week. For student convenience, online and distributive learning courses are offered in the programs providing flexibility for students who plan on working while furthering their education.
