Field Education


Field Education Requirement

Coursework in the BSW Program is augmented by 500 hours of fieldwork arranged by the field coordinator. Students are assigned to a community based social service agency during the last year of the baccalaureate program to fulfill the Field Education requirement.

Students must complete the Field Program Orientation below. This orientation module is designed to prepare BSW majors for the field education (SOW 4060 BSW Field Education I and SOW 4061 BSW Field Education II) component of their degree. Upon completion of this orientation, students should schedule an individual appointment with the BSW Coordinator of Field Education, Harvey Heckes.
