Program Director
CARES Suicide Prevention (www.caresprevention.org) is celebrating growth since its inception in 2006 to the community and a leader in suicide prevention in SW Florida. Through personal tragedy, C.A.R.E.S (Community Awareness in Recognizing & Educating on Suicide) has banded together for the prevention of suicide. We are the parents, siblings, family members, friends, members of the community with a voice. Our mission is to educate and support the members of the community on suicide prevention.
Responsibilities:
CARES is currently experiencing an exciting growth period. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the ProgramDirectoris responsible for supervision of programs, scheduling volunteers, and assistance with promotion and outreach.
o Manage policies, procedures, and safety guidelines for all programs
o Evaluate programs and provide feedback as needed
o Communicate program status with the Executive Director
o Maintain program expenditures within budgeted parameters
o Schedule volunteers to ensure safe delivery of services
o Assist with volunteer program promotion and training
o Provide public presentations and demonstrations as needed
o Contribute to the production of news articles and other material
o Cultivate relations with community partners and fundraising events
o Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
o Minimum of BAIBS degree in related field
o Leadership experience program development, organization, implementation, and evaluation
o Experience with non-profit( s)
o Proven effective management experience
o Experience providing training and supervision to field staff
o Ability to manage mu)tiple tasks simultaneously
o Ability to maintain confidentiality
o Knowledge of risk management models and skills
o Desired familiarity with suicide prevention and working with survivors
Part time (25-30 hrs per week) Position for time period of November 1,2009 through October 31,2010.
