Welcome

We are pleased that you have an interest in one or more of the academic programs located in the Division of Justice Studies.  The Division currently houses three undergraduate degree programs (Criminal Justice, Criminal Forensic Studies, and Legal Studies), and two masters level programs (Criminal Forensics Studies and Criminal Justice Administration).

One of the most heralded aspects of the Division of Justice Studies is the fact that the faculty members all have practical experience in the Justice field and this experience enriches the experience(s) that the students have in the program.  Students have shown great appreciation for the way that faculty is able to share their career/life experiences as they attempt to explain some theoretical phenomenon.  

Another aspect of the Division that lends itself for a rewarding and successful experience is the internship program.  Students are actually placed at local, regional, state and federal agencies in order to satisfy the internship requirement.  All of the agencies have agreed to give rewarding experiences as students are treated as if they were actual employees and are given meaningful tasks.  Students have expressed great satisfaction with the internship program and many have secured employment with their host agency.  The purpose of the internship is to allow the student the opportunity to experience the threshold where theory and practice comes together.  This is truly being accomplished at our host agencies.

The academic programs in the Division of Justice Studies are very flexible as courses are offered online, on weekends, at night, through distributive learning as well as face to face.  This flexibility allows the students to work as well as honor their personal responsibilities.
