David Lounsbury is an Associate Professor and the Coordinator of the Criminal Forensic Studies program at FGCU. He is the Director of the Institute for Forensic Excellence. David holds a BS and MS in Forensic Studies from the University of New Haven and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Capella University. He has 34 years of crime scene processing experience of which 21 years were with the Army Criminal Investigation command. David is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators and a Board Certified Fraud Examiner for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. David is a Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst, the highest certification by the International Association of Identification. For the past five years he has been teaching Interviews and Interrogations, Basic and Advanced Criminalistics at FGCU. He also teaches Medicolegal Death Investigation in the Master of Science in Criminal Forensic Studies program at FGCU. He is a member of the Reid Interview and Interrogation Institute, the International Association for Identification, the Florida Division of the International Association for Identification, and the American Academy of Forensic Science.
